We annually review salaries and periodically check the market to ensure our team members are fairly and appropriately rewarded.

Looking for development? We have partnered with Udemy to offer online learning courses. We also offer many courses relevant to our industry and we are planning to keep adding to these. Get certified for Financial Services and first aid. Attend internal training sessions. Research courses that may help with your development or have a chat to P&C for some assistance.
Norman Newbon has served on subsidiary boards of major public companies for the past 34 years in both the motor industry with Volkswagen and Subaru and in the insurance and financial services industry with GIO, AMP and Suncorp. Norman spent 21 years with GIO in an executive capacity and he is currently a Director of StateCover Mutual Limited, MIPS Holdings Limited. Prior directorships include Chairman of the ASX listed Konekt Limited.
Paul Myers has more than 35 years’ experience in the automotive industry. Paul spent 20 years with AGC, before becoming a Director of Premium Warranties Australia and dealing in underwritten warranty insurance products as well as discretionary warranty products. Paul was also a director of Motorsure and Australian Dealer Insurance.
Robyn Bateup is a qualified Actuary with over 25 years of experience in the general insurance industry, advising corporate and government entities. Robyn is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Robyn has extensive experience in eric’s product lines, including having been eric’s Appointed Actuary prior to 2016. Among her many skills, Robyn brings risk management, governance, pricing, regulatory, financial and actuarial expertise to the Board. Robyn is currently a Director of Medical Insurance Australia Pty Ltd and has also been an elected Council member of the Actuaries Institute.
Steve Kloss has more than 25 years’ experience in business principally in the automotive sector. Steve cut his teeth in the automotive industry, by being first to market with a host of intellectual property. Steve is currently the Chief Executive officer of Pentana Solutions who specialises in the supply and development of automotive corporate systems tailored to the needs of dealerships.
Ian Miller was a former Senior Partner of Ernst & Young having been with the firm, in a variety of executive roles, over 30 years. Ian is currently a Non-Executive Director of Macquarie Investment Management Ltd and was formerly Deputy Chairman of Murdoch Childrens Research Institute.
Jenny was appointed a director of eric on 1 February 2021 and is a member of the Board Audit Committee. Jenny is an experienced Non-Executive Director, with over 20 years experience with ASX listed, government and Not for Profit entities. She currently Chairs Sandhurst Trustees Ltd, (wealth management subsidiary of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank), and is a Director of VicTrack and Chair of their Audit Committee. She is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Victorian State Council, as well as a Trustee of the Anglican Diocese of Bendigo. Prior to her appointment as a company director, Jenny worked for 10 years at international accounting firm Arthur Andersen in the Audit and Risk Management division. She periodically performs sessional teaching at LaTrobe University in Audit & Assurance. Jenny holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Malcolm has over 35 years’ experience in Financial Services holding key leadership roles in Asset & Auto Finance. Prior to joining Eric, his most recent role was to lead the Esanda Dealer Finance business through a successful sale to Macquarie Group. Previous positions include executive roles within ANZ Bank and Managing Director UDC Finance in New Zealand. Malcolm is passionate about making things better for people, partners and customers. He delivers business growth through leading strong, customer-centric teams that deliver exceptional value, underpinned by continuous improvements to technology and process to firmly manage costs. Sean has over 30 years’ experience as a finance professional and has held a key role at Ernst & Young specialising in financial services and consumer products across a range of disciplines. Additionally, Sean has worked as an adviser, audit partner or the Chief Financial Officer for multinational, publicly listed, government, private equity and APRA regulated entities. Currently, aside from his work with Eric Insurance, Sean also sits on the board for Benetas, a not-for-profit aged care company focused on creating relationships and aiding the community. Sean brings his experience in the development and implementation of business strategies as well as his interest in the opportunity that technology and the global markets offer.
