It’s important to know you have the right cover for your situation. When it comes to motorcycle insurance, everyone has different needs and priorities, and that’s why eric gives you adequate cover with Motorcycle Fire, Theft or Third-Party Damage Insurance (FTTPPD).
What’s included?
If your motorcycle is damaged by Fire or as a result of Theft anywhere in Australia, eric will pay the cost to repair the motorcycle.
Up to $20 million for your Legal Liability for accidental damage to someone else’s property as a result of the use of the motorcycle where the rider of the motorcycle is at fault.
Option to pay your policy in monthly instalments similar to a subscription. Pay by the month (PBTM) allows you the freedom to cancel your policy at any time.

In the event of a Total Loss, eric will pay the Amount Covered (up to a maximum benefit of $5,000) for loss or damage caused by Fire and Theft. Legal Liability cover is shown below also included.

If you have Fire, Theft & Third Party Property Damage Insurance you are covered for damage to your motorcycle due to fire, if your motorcycle is stolen and cover for accidental damage to someone else’s property as a consequence of the use of your motorcycle, for which you would otherwise have Legal Liability.
We will pay you up to $5000 if your motorcycle is stolen or damaged by fire to either:
- Repair, reinstate or replace your Motorcycle;
- Pay you the cost of repairing your Motorcycle; or
- Indemnify you up to the Amount Covered as shown on the
Policy Schedule.
Yes, a rider can be added to the policy. In fact, all regular riders of the motorcycle should be listed on the policy. We will need to collect details such as the rider’s name, date of birth, motorcycle licence number, year of first licence and their driving history including any at-fault accidents or traffic convictions in the last 5 years. This may impact the premium payable on the policy.
Yes, learner riders can ride the motorcycle and/or hold a policy with us, providing that the comply with any applicable State laws. Normal age and driving history excesses will apply. See your policy for details.
The motorcycle on the policy can be changed, however, the policy will be re-rated to reflect the new vehicle on risk. The premium payable may be impacted. Once complete, a Policy Schedule will be forwarded verifying the change.
The following information is provided to assist you in the event of an incident and some information about how to lodge a claim with eric. Please download the documents and keep them in your glovebox: Accident Claim Form & Accident and Claim Assistance Guide.
- Call us on 1800 999 977 during business hours to lodge a claim over the phone, or
- You can lodge your claim online, or
- Download a claim form, complete it and email it to claims@ericinsurance.com.au, or post it to PO Box 9106 Scoresby VIC 3179.
Ensure that you provide a detailed incident description, including details of any other party involved. We will also require a copy of the front and back of your motorcycle licence as well as the licence of anyone riding the motorcycle or responsible for the motorcycle at the time of the accident. We may also request additional information and documentation to assist with the processing of your claim.
Take all reasonable steps to prevent or minimise further loss, damage or liability. Provide us with all additional information and help which we may reasonably require to process your claim, for example obtaining your driving or criminal history, if applicable, when requested. Assist us to recover, in your name, any amount we have paid on your claim, from the person who caused you to suffer the loss or damage in the event of fire or theft. Provide us with an opportunity to inspect any loss or damage before you have repairs carried out. Assist with any investigation of the circumstances of your claim.
If you have been involved in an accident and have received a demand for payment from the other person (or their insurer), contact us as soon as possible to lodge a claim.
If you’ve already lodged a claim, send us any demand for payment that you have received via email claims@ericinsurance.com.au or post to PO Box 9106 Scoresby VIC 3179.
Do not admit, deny or negotiate any claim with any person without eric’s prior consent or approval.
Notify the Police and then us immediately if your motorcycle is stolen or damaged by fire. If your motorcycle has been recovered after a theft, it should not be ridden until it has been assessed by us.
Please use a transactions account for any direct debit payments as we are unable to take payments from a savings account.

Fraudulent insurance claims ultimately cost everybody who takes out insurance. It imposes additional costs on honest policyholders and wastes valuable time and resources.
